In order to limit urban expansion, reconstruction on existing urban spaces is increasingly preferred. From this perspective, COLETANCHE enables the sites valorisation that have been contaminated naturally or not (radon, former landfill sites, soils from former industrial or mining sites, rubbish tips) by making them suitable for the construction of residential and tertiary buildings. Installed before foundations or asphalt paving, COLETANCHE provides a high-performance barrier, airtight to gases emanating from contaminants, preserving the air quality of the overlying buildings.
CHARACTERISTICS AND ADVANTAGES
Unique waterproofing guaranteed throughout the entire structure
COLETANCHE® is installed directly on the supporting substrate and can easily be welded to details (inlets, outlets, concrete, steel, PVC…) and in sensitive areas (where flammable gas is present, for example) due to the hot air technique. The flexibility of the membrane means that it can be easily apply to the most inaccessible locations.
Gas tightness far superior to polymeric geomembranes
The gas impermeability of COLETANCHE bituminous geomembrane is 1000 times greater than that of a polymeric geomembrane.
Easy and quick installation
COLETANCHE® installation requires no special tools. The welds are made using a gas torch, with or without a hidden flame, or with hot air with an overlap of 20 cm.
InstallationHigh dimensional stability
COLETANCHE®, unlike polymeric geomembranes, remains flat without wrinkle whatever the temperature are. It suffers none fatigue phenomenon due to dilatation. Concrete can be laid directly on the geomembrane, without risk of creasing or chemical reaction.
High resistance to puncture by aggregates
COLETANCHE can be laid directly on embankments with a grain size of less than 60 mm without additional geotextile layers. This is due to the thickness of COLETANCHE® and its integral reinforcement.
COLETANCHE geomembrane has been used by civil engineering professionals for 40 years. Thanks to our experience in the field of the environment, our research and development department has developed the Coletanche Biogas Barrier in response to the high protection requirements for the development of contaminated land.
